Tony Morris heads the Media + IP Team and has a background in handling both contentious and transactional matters. Tony and the rest of his team regularly advise on a wide range of IP issues involving copyright, trademarks, design rights and confidential information.. His practice extends into addressing a wide variety of matters that involve the internet including brand and copyright protection, reputation management, data protection and privacy issue and identity theft. In recent years, in addition to his regular client work, Tony has developed a practice as both an accredited mediator and qualified arbitrator (MCIArb) in which fields he has dealt with numerous disputes involving media and technology contracts and intellectual property rights and a major ICC case involving confidential information.
Tony Morris is used as a sounding board for clients, not only from the UK but in a multitude of other jurisdictions including the USA and various EU Member States. Over the course of his career he has developed an extensive network of connections, globally, with specialist Media and IP lawyers.
Tony Morris has written many editorials and commentaries for legal and commercial publications and chapters to a number of books on contractual and intellectual property matters. He has also lectured extensively on intellectual property rights and contractual matters for the EU Media Programme and similar courses at the EU Media Business School (Ronda, Spain) where, between 1997 and 2001, he devised and curated the ground-breaking Digital Media Business School for multi-national groups of post-graduate students. He has also appeared as a panelist and contributor to numerous forums – both in the USA and in Europe, presenting on a wide variety of legal topics addressing commercial, media and IP issues.
